Furthermore, the treatment of NTM diseases is species related. Thus, information about the pattern of treatment to cure the related diseases is very important in any geographical area. In this study, environmental and clinical isolates of NTM and their sensitivity to ethambutol has been determined.Methods: 41 clinical and environmental isolates from Isfahan, Iran, were identified by conventional phenotypic methods. To determine sensitivity to ethambutol, the isolates were tested in 2, 5, and 10 μg/ml antibiotic concentrations by agar microdilution method.Findings: The identified isolates included M. fortuitum (27 cases), M. gordonae (10 cases) M. smegmatis (1 case), M. abscessus (2 cases), and M. conceptionense (1 case). All of the clinical and environmental isolates were resistant to ethambutol except M. conceptionense which was susceptible in 5 and 10 μg/ml ethambutol concentrations [minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC): less than 5 μg/ml].Conclusion: Due to high frequency of ethambutol resistance in rapid- and slow-growing species of NTM, treatment strategy in this group of patients should be undertaken with caution and more effective drug should be considered.}, keywords = {Drug susceptibility,Nontuberclusis mycobacteria,Ethambutol,Agar microdilution}, title_fa = {بررسی حساسیت دارویی مایکوباکتریوم‌های آتیپیک محیطی و بالینی شهر اصفهان در برابر اتامبوتول}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: با توجه به افزایش روز افزون بیماری ایدز و بیماری‌زایی مایکوباکتریوم‌های غیرتوبرکلوزیس (Nontuberculous mycobacteria یا NTM) در این گروه از بیماران، نقش این باکتری‌ها روز به روز پررنگ‌تر شده، بیشتر مورد توجه قرار می‌گیرد. از طرفی، درمان این بیماری‌ها بسته به نوع گونه متفاوت می‌باشد و آگاهی از الگوی درمانی مورد نیاز برای معالجه‌ی بیماری‌های ناشی از آن‌ها در هر ناحیه‌ی جغرافیایی اهمیت بسیاری دارد. در این مطالعه، ایزوله‌های بالینی و محیطی مایکوباکتریوم‌های آتیپیک تعیین گونه شدند و حساسیت آن‌ها نسبت به آنتی‌بیوتیک اتامبوتول مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.روش‌ها: در این مطالعه، 41 ایزوله‌ی بالینی و محیطی شهر اصفهان با استفاده از روش‌های فنوتیپی تعیین گونه شد و حساسیت آن‌ها به اتامبوتول با روش Agar microdilution، در غلظت‌های 2، 5 و 10 میکروگرم بر میلی‌لیتر مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.یافته‌ها: 27 مورد M. fortuitum، 10 مورد M. gordonae، 1 مورد M. smegmatis، 2 مورد M. abscessus و 1 مورد M. conceptionense شناسایی شد. تمام ایزوله‌های بالینی و محیطی به این دارو مقاوم بودند؛ به جز M. conceptionense که با (Minimum inhibitory concentration) MIC کمتر از 5 میکروگرم بر میلی‌لیتر، در غلظت‌های 5 و 10 میکروگرم بر میلی‌لیتر به اتامبوتول حساس بود.نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به مقاوم بودن بیشتر ایزوله‌های تند رشد و کند رشد مورد استفاده در این مطالعه نسبت به اتامبوتول، باید در استراتژی درمانی این گروه از بیماری‌ها احتیاط لازم صورت پذیرد و استفاده از دارو‌های مؤثرتر مورد توجه قرار گیرد.}, keywords_fa = {حساسیت دارویی,مایکوباکتریوم‌های غیر توبرکلوز,اتامبوتول}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14061.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14061_e3ef3a9ee9b0ce97715705e848862792.pdf} }
