One of the principles of dealing to poisoned patients is bowel decontamination via using laxatives or purgatives to wash out poison‐activated charcoal complex quickly. This study aimed to determine gastrointestinal transit time fallowing administration of magnesium hydroxide, lactulose and polyethylene glycol in poisoned patients referred to emergency ward of Noor hospital, Isfahan, Iran, in 2015.Methods: 140 patients were randomly divided into four equal groups of magnesium hydroxide (30 ml with 2‐4 glass of water every 1 hour), lactulose (30 ml with 2‐4 glass of water every 1 hour), polyethylene glycol (70 g with 1 liter water every 20 minutes) and activated charcoal with water. In all patients, the time of taking the first dose of laxatives until to defecation were obtained. The results were compared to each other using SPSS software.Findings: There were no significant differences in term of age, sex and toxicant types. The mean time between the first dose of laxative until to defecation was significantly different between the 4 groups (P < 0.001).Conclusions: Between the 3 studied laxatives, polyethylene glycol and then, magnesium hydroxide were more efficient in decreasing mean transit time. The difference in mean transit time between the 3 laxatives was not significant; but, in comparison to activated charcoal with water, the laxatives showed significant difference which was remarkable.}, keywords = {Gastrointestinal disposal facility,Osmotic laxatives,Magnesium hydroxide,Lactulose,Polyethylene glycol}, title_fa = {بررسی مقایسه‌ای تسهیل دفع گوارشی به دنبال تجویز منیزیم هیدروکسید، لاکتولوز و پلی‌اتیلن گلیکول در بیماران مسموم}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: سمیت، توانایی یک ماده‌ی شیمیایی در ایجاد آسیب است. یکی از اصول کلی برخورد با فرد مسموم، آلودگی‌زدایی گوارشی می‌باشد که از مهم‌ترین روش‌های آن، استفاده از ماده‌ی مسهلی است که کمپلکس شارکول- ماده‌ی سمی را به طور سریع از دستگاه گوارش دفع کند. هدف از انجام این مطالعه، تعیین مسهل انتخابی با تعیین زمان دفع گوارشی به دنبال تجویز مسهل‌های اسموتیک منیزیم هیدروکسید، لاکتولوز و پلی‌اتیلن گلیکول در بیماران مسموم مراجعه کننده به اورژانس بیمارستان نور در سال 1394 بود.روش‌ها: 140 بیمار به طور تصادفی در چهار گروه دریافت کننده‌ی منیزیم هیدروکسید (30 میلی‌لیتر به همراه 4-2 لیوان آب هر 1 ساعت)، لاکتولوز (30 میلی‌لیتر به همراه 4-2 لیوان آب هر 1ساعت)، پلی‌اتیلن گلیکول (70 گرم به همراه 1 لیتر آب هر 1 ساعت) و شارکول با آب قرار گرفتند. در تمام بیماران، فاصله‌ی زمانی مصرف اولین نوبت مسهل تا زمان دفع، محاسبه و نتایج به دست آمده با استفاده از نرم‌افزار آماری SPSS با یکدیگر مقایسه شد.یافته‌ها: اختلاف معنی‌داری از نظر سن، جنس و نوع ماده‌ی سمی بین چهار گروه وجود نداشت. میانگین فاصله‌ی زمانی بین اولین نوبت مصرف مسهل تا زمان دفع در بین چهار گروه تفاوت‌های معنی‌داری داشت (001/0 > P).نتیجه‌گیری: در بین سه مسهل مورد مطالعه، پلی‌اتیلن گلیکول و سپس منیزیم هیدروکسید از نظر کوتاهی میانگین زمان دفع بیشترین کارایی را داشتند. گرچه، اختلافی که از نظر میانگین زمان دفع بین سه مسهل وجود داشت، در حد ناچیز بود، اما در مقایسه‌ی عملکرد تسریع دفع گوارشی این مسهل‌ها با مخلوط شارکول و آب، اختلاف معنی‌داری وجود داشت که قابل ملاحظه بود.}, keywords_fa = {زمان دفع روده‌ای,مسهل اسموتیک,منیزیم هیدروکسید,لاکتولوز,پلی‌اتیلن گلیکول}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14846.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14846_a71bd1742f26b2347fb2396aac5c3a95.pdf} }
