The pathogenesis of NAFLD has not been clearly determined, but the most widely supported theory is the mechanism of insulin resistance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of diabetes and pre-diabetes in patients with NAFLD.Methods: The present study was performed on 80 patients and 26 healthy controls matched for age and sex. Patients were diagnosed with NAFLD through ultrasound and were selected. From each participant, a 5 cc sample of blood was obtained and sent to a pathology laboratory for analysis. Quantitative data and qualitative data were analyzed using t-test and chi-square test, respectively. Moreover, multivariate tests, such as regression tests, were used where necessary.Findings: Among the participants, 64 (60.3%) were women and 42 (39.7%) were men. The average age of the subjects in the case group was 48.8 ± 10.8 years and in the control group was 42.3 ± 13.4 years. Of the 106 participants, 44 patients (41.5%) had pre-diabetes and 11 (10.4%) had diabetes; all were in the case group. In the control group, no subjects had pre-diabetes (P < 0.001) or diabetes (P = 0.046). After removing age as a confounder, the only variables that differed significantly between the two groups and were higher in the case group were hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), fasting plasma glucose, insulin, cholesterol, aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), two-hour blood glucose. Moreover, with the removal of BMI as a confounder, only hemoglobin A1C, fasting blood glucose, insulin, and ALT showed significant differences between the two groups.Conclusion: This study showed that the prevalence of diabetes in patients with NAFLD was high. Even with the removal of confounding factors, factors associated with diabetes, such as hemoglobin A1c, fasting plasma glucose, and insulin, had significant association with this disease, indicating a strong relationship between the two diseases.}, keywords = {Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD),Diabetes,Pre-diabetes}, title_fa = {بررسی فراوانی نسبی دیابت و پره‌دیابت در بیماران مبتلا به کبد چرب غیر الکلی و مقایسه با گروه شاهد}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: کبد چرب غیر الکلی، شایع‌ترین بیماری مزمن کبدی در کشورهای صنعتی غربی است. پاتوﮊنز کبد چرب غیر الکلی به طور قطعی مشخص نشده است، اما بیشترین و گسترده‌ترین تئوری که حمایت می‌شود، مکانیسم مقاومت به انسولین است. از این رو، هدف از انجام مطالعه‌ی حاضر، بررسی فراوانی نسبی دیابت و پره‌دیابت در بیماران مبتلا به کبد چرب غیر الکلی بود.روش‌ها: مطالعه‌ی حاضر بر روی 80 فرد بیمار و 26 فرد سالم که از لحاظ سن و جنس با بیماران همسان‌سازی شده بودند، انجام گرفت. کبد چرب غیر الکلی در بیماران با استفاده از سونوگرافی به اثبات رسید و بیماران انتخاب شدند. از هر فرد، 5 سی‌سی خون دریافت و به آزمایشگاه پاتولوژی ارسال شد و مورد آنالیز قرار گرفت. داده‌های کمی با استفاده از آزمون t و داده‌های کیفی با استفاده از آزمون 2χ مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. در صورت نیاز، از آزمون‌های Multivariate نظیر انواع رگرسیون استفاده شد.یافته‌ها: از کل شرکت کنندگان، 64 نفر (3/60 درصد) زن و 42 نفر (7/39 درصد) مرد بودند. میانگین سنی افراد در گروه مورد، برابر با 8/10 ± 8/48 سال و در گروه شاهد، برابر با 4/13 ± 3/42 سال بود. از کل افراد مورد مطالعه، 44 نفر (5/41 درصد) مبتلا به پره‌دیابت و 11 نفر (4/10 درصد) مبتلا به دیابت بودند که همگی در گروه مورد بودند و در گروه شاهد، هیچ فردی مبتلا به پره‌دیابت (001/0 > P) یا دیابت (046/0 = P)نبود. پس از حذف سن به عنوان یک عامل مخدوش‌گر، هموگلوبین A1c (Glycated hemoglobin)، قند خون ناشتا، انسولین، کلسترول، Aspartate transaminase (AST)، Alanine transaminase (ALT) و قند خون دو ساعته، تنها متغیرهایی بودند هنوز تفاوت معنی‌داری میان دو گروه داشتند و در گروه مورد بیشتر بودند. همچنین، با حذف Body mass index (BMI) به عنوان یک عامل مخدوش‌گر، تنها هموگلوبین A1c، قند خون ناشتا، انسولین و ALT تفاوت معنی‌داری میان دو گروه نشان دادند.نتیجه‌گیری: شیوع دیابت در بیماران مبتلا به کبد چرب غیر الکی بالا می‌باشد که حتی با حذف عوامل مخدوش‌گر، عوامل مرتبط با دیابت مانند هموگلوبین A1c، قند خون ناشتا و انسولین، با این بیماری ارتباط معنی‌داری دارد. این امر، نشان دهنده‌ی ارتباط محکم میان این دو بیماری می‌باشد.}, keywords_fa = {کبد چرب غیر الکلی,دیابت,پره‌دیابت}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14859.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14859_5c5f4f7c119933c8e3a5ec06767e2516.pdf} }
