Recent studies indicate that jujube extracts can suppress inflammation and reduce oxidative stress. Considering that brain ischemia is the third most common cause of death in developed countries, the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of juvenile neuronal protection against stroke-induced damage on the blood-brain barrier, and the activity of two anti-oxidants, glutathione peroxidase and catalase.Methods: In this experimental study, 15 groups of 7 Wistar male rats were used as follows: 2 control groups of saline, 2 sham groups, 2 groups of stroke, and control and stroke groups at doses of 100, 250, and 500 mg/kg/day of jujube extract. After 30 days of oral administration, the animals were subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) for 60 minutes. After 24 hours of reperfusion, the activity levels of glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and catalase were investigated in the areas of cortex and hippocampus; the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) was investigated as well.Findings: Oral administration of jujube extract at the dose of 250 mg/kg/day reduced the permeability of the blood-brain barrier in stroke model. Doses of 500 and 250 mg/kg/day of jujube in the cortex and hippocampus, and the dose of 100 mg/kg/day in the hippocampus increased catalase activity.Conclusion: The results of this study clearly show that jujube has a significant potential for stroke prevention.}, keywords = {Stroke,Jujube,Glutathione peroxidase, Catalase}, title_fa = {اثرات حفاظتی عصاره‌ی عناب در برابر نفوذپذیری سد خونی- مغزی، فعالیت گلوتاتیون پراکسیداز و کاتالاز در مدل سکته‌‌ی مغزی}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: عناب، گیاهی دارویی با خواص آنتی‌اکسیدانی قوی است که در سرتاسر جهان به ‌عنوان غذا و دارو مصرف می‌شود. مطالعات اخیر نشان می‌دهد عصاره‌ی عناب، سبب سرکوب التهاب و کاهش آسیب استرس اکسیداتیو است. با توجه به این‌ که سکته‌ی ‎‎مغزی سومین عامل مرگ ‌و میر در کشورهای توسعه‌یافته است، مطالعه‌ی حاضر با هدف بررسی اثرات حفاظت نورونی عصاره‌ی عناب در برابر آسیب ناشی از سکته‌‌ی مغزی بر روی استحکام سد خونی- مغزی و فعالیت دو آنزیم گلوتاتیون پراکسیداز و کاتالاز انجام شد.روش‌ها: در این مطالعه‌ی تجربی، از 15 گروه 7 تایی Rat نر نژاد Wistar استفاده شد که عبارت از دو گروه شاهد سالین، دو گروه Sham، دو گروه سکته‌ی مغزی، گروه‌های سالم و سکته با دوزهای 100، 250 و 500 میلی‌گرم/کیلوگرم روزانه از عصاره‌ی عناب بودند. پس از 30 روز تیمار خوراکی، حیوانات به مدت 60 دقیقه در معرض انسداد شریان مغز میانی قرار ‌گرفتند. بعد از 24 ساعت از برقراری جریان خون مجدد، میزان فعالیت گلوتاتیون پراکسیداز و کاتالاز نواحی کورتکس و هیپوکمپ و همچنین، نفوذپذیری سد خونی- مغزی بررسی شد.یافته‌ها: تجویز خوراکی عصاره‌ی عناب در دوز 250 میلی‌گرم/کیلوگرم در مدل سکته‌ی ‌مغزی سبب کاهش نفوذپذیری سد خونی- مغزی در کورتکس شد. دوزهای 250 و 500 میلی‌گرم/کیلوگرم عناب در کورتکس و هیپوکمپ و دوز 100 میلی‌گرم/کیلوگرم در هیپوکمپ، فعالیت کاتالاز را افزایش دادند.نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج به‌ دست‌ آمده از این مطالعه، به ‌وضوح نشان می‌دهد که عناب دارای پتانسیل قابل‌توجهی در پیش‌گیری از سکته‌ی ‌مغزی می‌باشد.}, keywords_fa = {سکته‌ی ‌مغزی,عناب,گلوتاتیون پراکسیداز,کاتالاز}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15545.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15545_145cce9cb17dbd4165216a79bd500674.pdf} }
