Despite various treatments, hydatid cyst recurrence is still a serious problem in areas with high prevalence. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to investigate the recurrence rate of hydatid cyst, and also the association of recurrence with the characteristics and manifestations of sonography according to the classification of hydatid cyst by World Health Organization (WHO).Methods: In this cross-sectional study, all patients with hydatid cyst, who underwent surgery during 2011-2014 were evaluated for demographic characteristics, cyst features, and types of surgical methods. After surgery, all the patients were followed up for 3 years, and increase of size in repeated sonographies was considered as recurrence.Findings: Based on WHO classification, the most common types of cysts included 23 cases (35.4%) of cystic echinococcosis type 1 (CE1), 12 cases (18.5%) of CE3b, 11 cases (16.9%) of CE3a, 7 cases (10.8%) of CE2, 3 cases (4.6%) of CE4, and 2 cases (3.1%) of CE5. Three cases (4.6%) of the patients had hydatid cyst recurrence. There was no significant association between demographic characteristics, cyst features, cyst classification according to WHO, and surgical methods with recurrence rate (P > 0.05).Conclusion: Hydatid cysts types of CE1, CE3b and CE3a are the most common types based on the WHO classification, and there is no association between their frequencies and the recurrence rate of hydatid cyst. Therefore, the use of this method of hydatid cyst classification is not recommended in order to determine the probability of recurrence of patients. However, more extensive studies in this field are recommended to determine the efficacy of this classification method to determine the risk of recurrence of hydatid cyst.}, keywords = {Hydatid cyst,Recurrence,World Health Organization}, title_fa = {بررسی میزان عود پس از عمل کیست هیداتید کبد بر اساس تقسیم‌بندی سازمان جهانی بهداشت (WHO)}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: کیست هیداتید، یکی از مهم ترین بیماری‌های مشترک انسان و دام می‌باشد که شایع‌ترین محل درگیری آن کبد است. با وجود درمان‌های مختلف، عود کیست هیداتید همچنان یکی از مشکلات جدی در مناطق با شیوع بالا می‌باشد. از این رو، مطالعه‌ی حاضر با هدف بررسی میزان عود کیست هیداتید و همچنین، ارتباط عود آن با ویژگی‌ها و تظاهرات موجود در سونوگرافی بر اساس طبقه‌بندی سازمان جهانی بهداشت (World Health Organization یا WHO) کیست هیداتید انجام شد.روش‌ها: در این مطالعه‌ی مقطعی، کلیه‌ی بیماران مبتلا به کیست هیداتید که در سال‌های 93-1390 تحت عمل جراحی قرار گرفتند، از نظر مشخصات دموگرافیک، ویژگی‌های کیست و انواع روش‌های جراحی مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. پس از عمل جراحی، به مدت 3 سال تمامی بیماران پی‌گیری شدند و افزایش اندازه در سونوگرافی‌های مکرر به عنوان عود در نظر گرفته شد.یافته‌ها: بر اساس تقسیم‌بندی WHO از کیست هیداتید، 23 بیمار (4/35 درصد) Cystic echinococcosis نوع 1 (CE1)، 12 بیمار (5/18 درصد) CE3b، 11 بیمار (9/16 درصد) CE3a، 7 بیمار (8/10 درصد) CE2، 3 بیمار (6/4 درصد) CE4 و 2 بیمار (1/3 درصد) CE5 بودند. 3 نفر (6/4 درصد) از بیماران دچار عود کیست هیداتید شدند. ارتباط معنی‌داری بین مشخصات دموگرافیک، ویژگی‌های کیست، تقسیم‌بندی کیست بر اساس WHO و انواع روش‌های جراحی با میزان عود یافت نشد (050/0 < P).نتیجه‌گیری: کیست‌های هیداتید CE1، CE3b و CE3a بر اساس تقسیم‌بندی WHO شایع‌ترین انواع کیست هیداتید می‌باشند که ارتباطی بین فراوانی آن‌ها و میزان عود کیست هیداتید وجود ندارد. از این رو، استفاده از این روش طبقه‌بندی کیست هیداتید به منظور تعیین احتمال عود بیماران پیشنهاد نمی‌گردد. اگر چه مطالعات گسترده‌تری در این زمینه به منظور بررسی کارایی این روش طبقه‌بندی در تعیین احتمال عود کیست هیداتید توصیه می‌گردد.}, keywords_fa = {کیست هیداتید,عود,سازمان جهانی بهداشت}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15664.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15664_b2007383abb51e4814bc5a992d21c24d.pdf} }
