This study aimed to evaluate the severity of pain in patients under mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Alzahra educational hospital, Isfahan, Iran, based on CPOT criteria.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 170 ICU-hospitalized patients under mechanical ventilation were enrolled, and their pain and CPOT scores were obtained. Then, the correlation of pain with other influential factors was evaluated.Findings: 135 patients (79.41%) had pain, and the mean CPOT score was 4.06 ± 1.46 among the patients. There was a significant relationship between the presence of pain and the cause of admission (P < 0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between the Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and CPOT (r = 0.24, P = 0.001). There was a significant relationship between the cause of hospitalization in patients and CPOT score (P < 0.001), too; so that CPOT scores were higher in postoperative, heart diseases, trauma, burn, brain damage, and respiratory diseases, respectively.Conclusion: The CPOT index is a good method to determine the severity of pain after intubation in patients admitted to ICU, who for any reason, have no ability to speak or express the pain.}, keywords = {Mechanical Ventilation,Intensive care unit, Pain}, title_fa = {بررسی شدت درد در بیماران تحت تهویه‌ی مکانیکی بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه بر اساس معیار Critical-Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT)}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: معیار Critical-care pain observation tool (CPOT) یک روش دیداری استاندارد جهت تعیین شدت درد اینتوباسیون (Intubation) است. هدف از انجام این مطالعه، بررسی شدت درد در بیماران تحت تهویه‌ی مکانیکی بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه‌ی مرکز آموزشی- درمانی الزهرا (س) بر اساس معیار CPOT بود.روش‌ها: در این مطالعه‌ی مقطعی، 170 بیمار بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه با تهویه‌ی مکانیکی وارد مطالعه شدند و وجود درد و نمره‌ی CPOT در آن‌ها به دست آمد. سپس، ارتباط درد با سایر عوامل تأثیرگذار مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.یافته‌ها: 135 نفر (41/79 درصد) از بیماران درد داشتند و میانگین نمره‌ی CPOT در بیماران 46/1 ± 06/4 بود. ارتباط معنی‌داری بین وجود درد با علت بستری وجود داشت (001/0 > P). همبستگی معنی‌داری مثبت بین نمره‌ی معیار کمای Glasgow (Glasgow coma scale یا GCS) و CPOT وجود داشت (001/0 = P، 24/0 = r). نمره‌ی CPOT در بیماران به علت بعد از عمل، بیماری‌های قلبی، تروما، سوختگی، آسیب مغزی و بیماری‌های تنفسی به ترتیب به طور معنی‌داری بیشتر از سایر بیماری‌ها بود (001/0 > P).نتیجه‌گیری: CPOT روش مناسبی در تعیین وجود و شدت درد بعد از اینتوباسیون در بیماران بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه است که به هر علتی توانایی صحبت کردن و یا ابراز درد را ندارند.}, keywords_fa = {تهویه‌ی مکانیکی,بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه,درد}, url = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15737.html}, eprint = {https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_15737_0028723b6c9061fa5ae5fb2b09308013.pdf} }
