The biological performance of breast cancer 1 (BRCA1) in cancer has been recognized and its prognostic significance has been verified in colorectal cancer; decrease in the expression of this protein in cancer indicates a poor prognosis for patients. The aim of the current study was to evaluate BRCA1 protein expression in cancerous colorectal specimens compared to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor using immunohistochemistry method.Methods: A total of 50 cancerous colorectal and 50 healthy specimens were collected. The expression of BRCA1 protein was evaluated upon paraffin sections through immunohistochemistry method.Findings: The findings of the current study showed that the level of BRCA1 protein expression significantly decreased in cancerous specimens compared to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor (P = 0.026).Conclusion: The expression of BRCA1 could be used as an appropriate biological marker in the diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer. مقدمه: ژن‌های مهار کننده‌ی تومور متفاوتی در سرطان کولورکتال نقش دارند که از این بین، نقش ژن مهار کننده‌ی تومور Breast cancer1 (BRCA1) از اهمیت ویژه‌ای برخوردار است. عملکرد بیولوﮊیکال BRCA1 در سرطان شناخته شده است و اهمیت پروگنوستیک آن درسرطان کولورکتال تصدیق شده است؛ به طوری که کاهش بیان این پروتئین درسرطان، نشانگر پیش‌آگهی ضعیف برای بیماران می‌باشد. مطالعه‌ی حاضر با هدف بررسی بیان پروتئین BRCA1 در نمونه‌های سرطانی کولورکتال در مقایسه با بافت طبیعی مجاور تومور به روش ایمونوهسیتوشیمی انجام شد.روش‌ها: در این مطالعه، تعداد 50 نمونه‌ی سرطانی کولورکتال و 50 نمونه‌ی بافت سالم مجاور تومور جمع‌آوری شد. بیان پروتئین BRCA1 با روش ایمونوهیستوشیمی بر روی مقاطع پارافینی بررسی گردید.یافته‌ها: میزان بروز پروتئین BRCA1 در نمونه‌های سرطانی نسبت به بافت سالم مجاور آن‌ها به طور معنی‌داری کاهش یافت (026/0 = P).نتیجه‌گیری: روتئین BRCA1 می‌تواند به عنوان یک نشانگر بیولوژیک مناسب در تشخیص و به عنوان یک عامل پیش‌آگهی دهنده در سرطان کولورکتال استفاده گردد. سرطان کولورکتال ایمونوهیستوشیمی Breast cancer1 ژن مهار کننده‌ی تومور https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_14861_7274f01abe1fc0622bd2ff06724950c1.pdf
