This is because this glycoprotein is overexpressed in certain forms of chronic rhinosinusitis. This study was conducted with the aim of comparing P-glycoprotein levels in different severities of chronic rhinosinusitis with and without polyps. <strong>Methods:</strong><strong> </strong>In this cohort study, 30 patients with non-polypoid chronic rhinosinusitis and 30 patients with polypoid chronic rhinosinusitis were enrolled. The levels of P-glycoprotein in the salivary secretions of the two groups, as well as the severity of rhino sinusitis using the Lund-Mackey, Lund-Kendi, and Nasal Sinus Outcome Test criteria, were measured and compared between the two groups. <strong>Findings:</strong><strong> </strong>The mean P-glycoprotein level in the two groups with and without polyps was 87.24 ± 302.17 and 36.43 ± 224.60, respectively, and the difference between the two groups was significant (P < 0.001). <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Considering the higher P-glycoprotein level in patients with polypoid chronic rhinosinusitis, it seems that this index can be useful in diagnosing and determining the type of chronic rhinosinusitis. <strong>مقاله پژوهشی</strong> <strong>مقدمه:</strong> مطالعات قبلی به این نتیجه رسیده‌اند که گلیکوپروتئین پی (P-glycoprotein)، نه تنها در غشای سلولی بلکه در خارج از سلول نیز یافت می‌شود. چرا که این گلیکوپروتئین در اشکال خاصی از رینوسینوزیت مزمن، بیش از حد بیان می‌شود. این مطالعه با هدف مقایسه‌ی سطح گلیکوپروتئین P در شدت‌های مختلف رینوسینوزیت مزمن با پولیپ و بدون پولیپ به انجام رسید. <strong>روش‌ها:</strong> در این مطالعه‌ی هم‌گروهی، 30 بیمار مبتلا به رینوسینوزیت مزمن غیر پولیپی و 30 بیمار مبتلا به رینوسینوزیت مزمن پولیپی وارد مطالعه شده و سطح گلیکوپروتئین P در ترشحات بزاق دو گروه و همچنین شدت رینوسینوزیت با معیارهای Lund-Mackey، Lund-Kendi و آزمون پیامد سینوس بینی، اندازه‌گیری و بین دو گروه مقایسه شد. <strong>یافته‌ها:</strong> میانگین سطح گلیکوپروتئین P در دو گروه با و بدون پولیپ به ترتیب 87/24 ± 302/17 و 36/43 ± 224/60 بوده و اختلاف دو گروه معنی‌دار بود (0/001 > P). <strong>نتیجه‌گیری:</strong><strong> </strong>: با توجه به بالاتر بودن سطح گلیکوپروتئین P در بیماران مبتلا به رینوسینوزیت مزمن پولیپی به نظر می‌رسد این شاخص می‌تواند در تشخیص و تعیین نوع رینوسینوزیت مزمن مفید باشد. https://jims.mui.ac.ir/article_32937_c205a106a04f42e1714daaa17b031a12.pdf
