This report aims to provide practical solutions to improve the performance of social determinants of health research centers. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the existing conditions and consultation with key stakeholders, the most important challenges of these centers have been identified, including the dispersion of research domains, weakness in converting findings into executive policies, and limitations in interacting with the community. In this regard, the proposed solutions emphasize “strengthening community engagement” as the most central strategy, as increasing public awareness and attracting public participation not only improves the quality of research, but also provides the basis for implementing research results. The second solution, “developing intersectoral collaboration,” requires the creation of institutional mechanisms for coordination between research centers, universities, and executive agencies. These collaborations can lead to data sharing, preventing parallel research activities, and aligning research with the country’s real needs. “Reforming the research evaluation system” is proposed as a third strategy. Currently, evaluation criteria are mainly focused on the number of articles and quantitative indicators, while for social determinants of health research, indicators such as social impact, application of findings in policymaking, and stakeholder participation should also be considered. Overall, the successful implementation of these strategies requires attention to several key points. First, it is necessary to start with small-scale pilot projects and, after evaluating the results, expand them to the national level. Second, gaining policymakers' support through providing strong documentation and tangible evidence of the impact of research on community health is particularly important. Finally, establishing continuous monitoring and evaluation systems can help continuously refine and improve the strategies. What can ultimately be emphasized is that achieving the goals of Social Determinants of Health Research Centers requires national resolve and a coherent plan that both responds to immediate needs and considers the long-term perspective.

With the rapid increase in the elderly population in Iran, the home care system has faced significant challenges. Home caregivers, who are mainly family members, face significant psychological, economic, and social pressures that lead to burnout, depression, and even the development of chronic diseases in them. On the other hand, the elderly face multiple challenges, including chronic physical illnesses, mental disorders, social isolation, and in some cases, abuse. Thematic analysis in this document indicates that improving the situation of the elderly and their caregivers requires urgent and multi-level policy interventions. In the short term, training in caregiving skills and strengthening mental health services in health centers can have the greatest impact. Implementing these strategies is relatively simple, and they are also cost-effective. In the medium term, developing online digital support systems could improve access to counseling services, although the technological limitations of older people should be taken into account. Financial support for caregivers, although desirable, was introduced as a lower priority due to the implementation challenges and the need for a strong monitoring system. The document emphasizes that improving the current situation while simultaneously considering the needs of older people and caregivers is possible. An integrated approach that both enhances caregiving skills and strengthens psychosocial support services can prevent caregiver burnout and improve the quality of life of older people. Phased implementation of these strategies is the most practical path to creating sustainable change in this area, given resource limitations and existing infrastructure. Health policymakers should note that investing in this sector is a humanitarian necessity and a preventive measure to reduce future healthcare system costs

A study conducted on employees of Isfahan Steel Company shows a worrying relationship between occupational stress and obesity, such that employees with high occupational stress are more susceptible to obesity. These findings are a wake-up call for the country's industries, as stress-induced obesity not only threatens the health of the workforce, but also affects organizational productivity and the economics. The solution to this problem requires practical and multi-level measures, which this document addresses. Improving the physical conditions of the workplace is proposed as the first and most effective option, as it directly affects stressors. Stress management and healthy nutrition training programs act as essential supplements to these programs. Successful implementation of these strategies requires the full participation of management, employees, and regulatory agencies. Investing in this area is not just a cost, but a smart investment for the future of the industry and the health of society

Traffic accidents in Isfahan are considered one of the most serious challenges in the field of public health and urban safety, causing significant loss of life and financial losses annually. Accordingly, a set of practical and policy solutions have been proposed that can lead to a reduction in traffic accidents in Isfahan. “Improving road design in high-risk areas” such as Area 3, which has a worn-out texture and winding roads, is one of these solutions. Although this solution requires significant investment and cross-sectoral cooperation, its long-term and sustainable effects on reducing accidents are significant. “Developing emergency bases in high-accident areas of the city” is also another solution that can minimize the time to reach the scene of an accident and increase the chances of saving the lives of the injured “Gradual relocation of some trip-generating centers to the outskirts of the city”, “implementing continuous educational campaigns for drivers and pedestrians”, and “installing surveillance cameras in accident-prone areas” are other suggested solutions. Each of these solutions has its own advantages and challenges that should be considered in urban planning. For example, while educational campaigns have lower implementation costs, they require repetition and continuity to achieve the desired results. On the other hand, large-scale development projects such as road improvements, although costly, will have more long-term and more sustainable effects on traffic safety. The successful implementation of these solutions requires the cooperation and participation of all stakeholders, including the municipality, traffic police, emergency organizations and the targeted areas. Adequate budget allocation, careful planning and continuous monitoring of project implementation are other key factors in the success of these programs. By providing a practical, evidence-based framework, this report aims to provide appropriate guidance for policymakers and urban planners to reduce traffic accidents and create a safer city for all citizens.

With the rapid increase in the elderly population in Iran and the high prevalence of physical inactivity in this age group, there is an urgent need for policies and programs to promote physical activity. An intervention study implementing an educational program based on social cognitive theory in Isfahan city showed that structured interventions can significantly change the behavior of the elderly. This program, which was implemented over 6 training sessions, focused on strengthening self-efficacy, social support, expectations, and outcome value, and succeeded in significantly increasing the average physical activity in the intervention group. Given the key roles of self-efficacy and social support in the program’s success, implementation costs are highly cost-effective compared to savings in medical costs from reduced inactivity-related diseases. Based on this, policy strategies were proposed. Among other things, for the widespread implementation of this program, its integration into the primary health care system is proposed as the first option, which can achieve wide coverage by using the existing structure of health centers. Developing inter-sectoral cooperation with organizations such as the municipality and the Welfare Organization as a complement to this program can take advantage of the existing facilities and spaces for physical activity. Also, empowering families as the main supporters of the elderly can ensure their continued participation. In addition to improving the quality of life of the elderly, the successful implementation of this program will prevent many diseases related to inactivity annually and reduce the economic burden on the health system. By providing operational solutions, this document provides an appropriate framework for policymakers in the field of aging to take effective steps to achieve active and healthy aging.
