Background: The Qur'anic approach in sciences deepens ontological and epistemological understanding while opening new horizons in addressing contemporary challenges. This study aims to elucidate the necessity of an interdisciplinary approach based on Qur'anic teachings in medical education and research.
Methods: This qualitative study employs an analytical-comparative approach, examining contemporary health challenges while elaborating on the Qur'anic principles' potential for enhancing human health. Citing prior studies and existing evidence, it emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary approaches in medical education and research.
Findings: Findings indicate that the Holy Qur'an addresses various health dimensions (physical, psychological, social), and Islamic studies curricula hold potential for health-oriented approaches. Additionally, there is a noticeable shortage of educational programs addressing spiritual health. Achieving a Qur'anic approach in health requires establishing a new paradigm in medical education and research through interdisciplinary collaboration between medical specialists and religious scholars.
Conclusion: Given contemporary health challenges and the capacities within Qur'anic teachings, adopting an interdisciplinary approach in medical education and research is imperative. This approach deepens our understanding of health dimensions and offers innovative solutions for enhancing human well-being.
