Authors Guide

Scientific Journal of Isfahan Medical School, in the following sites: Scopus, EMBASE, Chemical Abstracts, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Google Scholar, Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), WHO / EMRO / Index Medicus, Scientific Information Database (SID), Academic Search Complete EBSCO Publishing databases, Index Copernicus, Academic Index, Iran Medex Is indexed. This journal is published electronically every week under the auspices of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. This journal publishes scientific research articles in the field of basic and clinical medical sciences research. Articles in this journal are accepted that are scientific-research and have not been previously published elsewhere or even submitted to other journals at the same time. This journal publishes articles only in Persian, including a variety of original research articles, reviews, case reports, short articles, and letters to the editor, and places them on the journal's website at http://jims.mui.ac.ir. Submissions must be submitted in the format suggested by the journal and handwritten submissions outside the format mentioned in the authors' guide will not be considered.

Articles that can be published in the scientific-research journal of Isfahan Medical School include the following:

A- Original research articles: scientific-research articles with a maximum volume of 2500 words; The ceiling of total tables and pictures is 4, the ceiling of sources and references is 30.

B- Short research articles: short scientific research articles with a maximum of 1000 words; The ceiling of total tables and pictures is 2, the ceiling of sources and references is 15.

C- Review Articles - Review articles from experienced authors and owners of research articles in the field in question will be accepted. The general principles of writing are similar to other research articles. These types of articles are up to 7,000 words. In the list of references, at least 6 references used must belong to the author (with at least four out of six articles as the first author or responsible author). Systematic review and meta-analysis articles are an exception to this condition.

  1. Letter to the Secretary - Letter to the Editor can be a critique of one of the articles published in this journal that is written with a short discussion, along with a list of sources. The letter to the editor can also be arranged to provide scientific observations from the latest research on an important topic to inform the readers of the journal. Letter to the editor with a maximum of 500 words; The total ceiling of tables and pictures is 2, the ceiling of sources and references is 5. If the letter is to the editor regarding a review of a previously published article, a review of the article will be sent to the author responsible for the reviewed article and will be published with his response, if approved by the Writers' Council.

E- Qualitative research- Qualitative research with a maximum of 3000 words; The ceiling of total tables and pictures is 4, the ceiling of sources and references is 30. G. Case Report - Case reports include rare or interesting case reports and should include an abstract, introduction, case report, discussion, conclusion, thanksgiving, and sources. Case report with a maximum of 1000 words; The ceiling of total tables and pictures is 5, the ceiling of sources and references is 15.

How to send manuscripts in the electronic system of the magazine Dear writers, after preparing their manuscript according to the authors' guide of this journal and preparing the relevant files, it is necessary to enter the electronic system of the journal of Isfahan Medical School at the address http://jims.mui.ac.ir and through the registration link Name, to complete the registration process. After receiving the username and password, they can enter their personal page and complete the steps of sending the manuscript. Those authors who decide to submit a new manuscript for the second time do not need to re-register and can submit a new manuscript with the previous username and password. Authors must submit their revised handwriting through their previous personal page and in no way re-register as a new user with a new email.

Dear authors, when sending your manuscript, please pay attention to the following points:

  1. The official language of the magazine is Persian. Therefore, articles are only acceptable in Persian (with English abstract).
  2. The manuscript must be a research and the result of research of the author or authors in the field of basic and clinical medical sciences that has not been previously published in English or Persian in other journals or has not been submitted to other journals at the same time. In addition, after publishing their manuscript in the journal of Isfahan Medical School, the respected authors do not have the right to publish this manuscript in other languages ​​in other journals. Translated manuscripts are not accepted in this journal.
  3. Manuscripts resulting from clinical trial research, it is necessary, before sending for publication, in one of the clinical trial registration centers such as: IRCT Clinical Trial Registration Center of Iran at the address: http://www.irct.ir and then Upon confirmation, a 16-digit code confirming the clinical trial will be entered on the handwritten title page.
  4. Due to the fact that the judging process is done as a peer review and in a blind manner, it is necessary that the original text of the manuscript does not have the names or details of the authors or other collaborators in that research. It is necessary to include the names and other characteristics of the handwritten authors (who, according to the principles of publishing ethics, have the right to write) and the appreciation section, in the title page file. Obviously, manuscripts with the authors' names and details in their original text will be returned to the authors for correction.
  5. Article submission should be done exclusively through the electronic system of the journal of the medical school. It is necessary that only the responsible author (responsible author) submits the manuscript. Manuscripts submitted by other authors or others will not be considered.
  6. In addition to listing the names of all authors on the title page, it is necessary to enter the names of the handwritten authors along with the ORCID code of each of them, in the relevant place in the system.
  7. After uploading the manuscript in the journal system, changing the names of the authors before issuing the acceptance certificate is subject to the written request of the responsible author with the consent of all authors and providing a reasonable reason for this. However, after the issuance of the acceptance certificate, it is not possible to change the names of the authors or change the order of the authors' names.
  8. It is emphasized that there is no way to cancel the continuation of the judging process of the article that has been sent to the judges and has been examined. In special cases, the author's request to cancel the continuation of the handwriting expert process will be reviewed by the editorial board of the journal and the necessary decisions will be made.
  9. The files that the authors need to upload in the first step on the electronic website of this magazine are:

(1) Original handwritten text file, (2) Title page file, (3) Signed commitment file, (4) Cover letter. Submitted files must be in word format only. Sending files in PDF format is not acceptable.

How to set the original files: A) Title page: This page should include the full handwritten title, the frequent title (short title), the names of the author or authors with the highest degree, the group or department, the institution where they work, and the e-mail address of all authors. It is necessary to mention the address, telephone, fax of the responsible author (author responsible for the manuscript). Mentioning the names of the author or authors with the highest degree, group or department or institution where they work is also required in English on the title page.

Note: The title of the article should represent the content of the article and should not exceed 20 words.

  1. A) Acknowledgments: In this section, all people who have somehow contributed to the study but were not part of the authors should be appreciated; Including those who provided technical, written and financial assistance, as well as supervisors and managers of the study areas who were involved in public support for the research. It is also necessary to mention the name of the sponsoring organization (s) or non-financial support of the research in this section. - If the manuscript is the result of a student dissertation, the number of the dissertation approved by the university and the name of the university must be mentioned in the appreciation section.
  2. B) Letter of commitment: It is necessary to download the letter of commitment from the guide section of the authors of this magazine and read it carefully by all respected handwritten authors. The responsible author (respondent author) prints the manuscript, on behalf of all the handwritten authors, and after checking the options, signs it automatically at the end. Then make a scan of the signed file and upload it to the magazine's website along with the original handwritten file and the title page file (and the letter file to the editor).
  3. C) The main file of the manuscript should have the following parts in order: abstract, introduction, methods, findings, discussion, appreciation and thanks and sources. The original handwritten file must be without the authors name. If necessary, the authors can upload additional files containing additional tables, additional images, questionnaires and checklists used in this research as attachments by selecting the "Other" option. Note: In order to upload additional files, it is necessary for the authors to log out of the system once, and after re-logging in, it will be possible to upload additional files.
  4. D) Cover letter: In the letter to the supervisor, it is necessary to consider the following: - The prominence of the work of this research shows, in other words, what new achievements of this research compared to the existing evidence. - If the results of this research or a part of the manuscript are presented in the conferences, state the full details of that conference and the way of presenting the data of the present research. - If the present manuscript has already been subscribed in this magazine and has been archived for any reason, while referring to the archiving of the manuscript, state the previous issue of the manuscript.

Specifications Abstract: Manuscripts must have two abstracts in Persian and English The number of abstract words should be a maximum of 250 words The abstract should include sections on introduction, methods, findings, discussion, and keywords. The English abstract must be exactly equivalent to the Persian abstract and include sections: Keywords, Conclusion, Findings, Methods, Background. Keywords are placed at the end of the handwritten abstract and include: Three to five keywords that should be extracted from the address (http://nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MBrowser.html) using only the MeSH guide. {It is better to choose keywords from words that in the next searches of the readers of this article, are easily discovered and seen by internet search engines, in other words, increase the chances of seeing this article in the future. It is better to use keywords that do not appear in the handwritten title because the handwritten title itself is also considered in search engines. Therefore, by choosing keywords that represent the main components of this research (in addition to the words mentioned in the handwritten title), the chances of seeing articles in the future increase.

Details of the original handwritten text:

  • Introduction: In this section, the background of the present study, the questions posed to the researchers in relation to the subject under study, are given. Note that there is no need to provide extensive content in published scientific texts. In the final paragraph of the manuscript introduction, it is necessary to clearly state the need for this research. In fact, the reason for this research should be properly explained. It is necessary to refrain from generalization and to highlight the innovations made in this research. - methods: In this section, it is necessary to clearly state the type of study, time of study, place of study, statistical population, entry and exit criteria and measurement tools. This section includes a detailed presentation of the observations, interventions and methods used in the study. If the method used is known, only the source should be mentioned. But if it is a new method, it must be explained in a way that is understandable to other researchers and can be practically repeated. In case of using special devices and equipment, the name, name of the manufacturer and its address should be mentioned in parentheses. If the drug was used in the study, the generic name, dose, and method of administration should be given. In the case of individuals and patients under study, sex and age (along with standard deviation) should be reported. In the case of computer software and systems, the year and its edition should be mentioned in parentheses and followed by its name. If the study has a questionnaire or checklist, it is necessary to attach it to the attachment file (upload in icon, etc.); Specify the method of ensuring validity and explain the exact description of the implementation process for its validation. Explain how to determine the methods used to ensure the reliability of the questionnaire and report the results of statistical tests used to ensure reliability. In the case of standard questionnaires, it is sufficient to mention the name and reference. Note 1: Dear authors, when uploading the manuscript, it is necessary to complete the handwriting evaluation checklists (appropriate to the type of manuscript, for example, the checklist and consortium diagram for clinical trial studies) and upload it as an attachment (uploading an icon, etc.) To. Checklists can be retrieved on the journal's website in the Authors Guide.

-Ethical considerations: These considerations should be mentioned in the Methods section. Consent is required from all adults participating in the study, and in the case of children and dependents, it must be obtained from their legal guardian. Mentioning the source confirming the ethical considerations of the study is necessary. When using laboratory animals, it is necessary to observe the relevant standard regulations. Note 2: Mentioning the code of ethics in research is mandatory in all human and animal studies (except review research). Note 3: It is mandatory to mention the ID number of the 16-digit clinical trial license obtained from the IRCT system. - findings: This section is presented as text with tables, figures and diagrams. In this section, only the findings are presented and the reasons and arguments related to it should be avoided. The content of the tables should not be presented in full in the text, but it is enough to mention them in the middle of the text by mentioning the table number, figure or diagram. Tables, charts, and figures should each be listed on a separate page, followed by references, at the end of the manuscript. Tables and diagrams are located in the original manuscript file, in addition to references in the text, where they are located.

- Discuss: The handwritten discussion consists of various paragraphs. In the first paragraph of this section, first with a brief reference to the main reason for conducting the research, the main findings of the study and then its similarities and differences with the findings of other researchers in similar studies are mentioned. It is not necessary to mention the full details of the findings in this section. It is necessary to emphasize the new and important findings of the present study and its achievements in this section. It is important to note that the hypothesis presented in the study is correct or incorrect, or that sufficient reasons have not been found to reject or accept it. In the following paragraphs, the other main or sub-findings of the present study are presented in order and compared with the results reported from other studies of others. It is necessary to discuss the differences observed in the findings of the present study in comparison with the research of others, and the logical or probable reasons for these differences. It is best to state the limitations of the present study in a separate paragraph. At the end of the handwritten discussion section, it is necessary to briefly state the main findings of the present study under the heading "Conclusion". Interest Conflict of: At the end of the original manuscript file (before references), the author or authors should have any material benefits such as: fees, commissions, materials and equipment, from universities, organizations, institutions, companies Or immaterial interests (administrative or professional interests) in government agencies or private companies and institutions should be clearly stated. It is also necessary to state the cases in which the publication of the study findings can be beneficial or detrimental.

 

* Manuscript editing pattern: The manuscript should be prepared under MS Word software in A4 size and without any layout, 1 line spacing (Single) with 2.5 cm margins, as a column, B Zar font and size 11, B Zar font size 11 Bold . Use Type New Roman font size 10 for typing English summary text and references and Time New Roman font size 10 Bold for Latin title font. Equations must be legible with appropriate letters and symbols using Microsoft Word Equation. Units should be numbered in International Units (SI) and equations, respectively. Manuscripts submitted outside the mentioned format will not be processed. - Tables: Tables should be sent without external borders. The limited number of tables according to the volume of study and article, along with mentioning its title at the top of the table will be accepted. Sending tables is only accepted under MSWord software. Additional descriptions of the table contents should be in writing and at the bottom of the table. Tables should be placed on separate pages and at the end of the manuscript (after sources). Tables should have a white background without shadows and trams. Tables should be created by MS Word software without any layout, single line spacing, B Zar font and size 10, and variable font for each B Zar column and size 10 Bold. Use the Time 9 Roman font size 9 to type Latin words in the table. - Picture and chart: An image or diagram, with its title below it, is acceptable in JPG format. It is necessary to consider each image with a quality of 200 dpi and a maximum size limit of 500 KB. Note 1- If a form or table has been taken from another reference, the reference number should be written at the end of the title of the table or figure and the reference details should be inserted in the references section.

-Abbreviations and signs: Only standard abbreviations and signs should be used and acronyms should be avoided in the title and summary of the article. - For each of the acronyms that appear for the first time in the text, it is necessary to state the full words of that acronym (unless it is related to known scales and standard values). - Sources: The author must be sure of the accuracy of the references cited to the material cited. The structure of the resources in this journal is based on the Vancouver Treaty. Preferences should be written using Endnote software. All sources must be in English, the translation of the text of Persian sources is the responsibility of the author and at the end will be the phrase [In Persian]. Article publishing cost: Publishing an article in this weekly magazine requires a fee. After uploading the manuscript on the magazine's website, the manuscripts are initially reviewed by the magazine editor in terms of: thematic (innovation for readers) and the structure and observance of the main sections of the manuscript (according to the guide of the authors of this magazine). In case of initial approval of the manuscript by the editor, the total cost of publishing the manuscript is estimated and notified by e-mail to the responsible author (responsible author) of the manuscript. After making the necessary corrections (reducing or increasing the number of handwritten words), the total cost of printing the accepted manuscript is calculated and the responsible author is informed before issuing the acceptance certificate. The issuance of the manuscript acceptance certificate is subject to the deposit of the amount announced in the account of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and the uploading of the relevant receipt in the journal system. To calculate the cost of handwriting, the total number of handwritten words includes: original handwritten text words and sources. (Regardless of Persian and English abstract words, up to 4 tables and 2 pictures). For each additional graph or image, 300 words are added to the number of handwritten words. If the volume of the manuscript is reduced during the expert process, the cost of publishing the manuscript will be reduced The payment slip must be in the name of the responsible author. The payment slip should be scanned with the desired quality and uploaded at the same time as the handwritten upload.

Peer review process: All manuscripts will be scrutinized by selected judges of the Journal Writers' Council. The responsible author will be briefed by the editors and the editorial board as soon as possible during the editor's decision on rejection, acceptance or correction. If the manuscript is accepted for publication by the editor of the journal, the acceptance letter will be sent via email to the responsible author. After receiving the manuscript acceptance fee, the article will be published. - The editorial board is free to reject, modify, edit and summarize the article. - The responsibility for the accuracy or correctness of the content presented in the article lies with the author or authors.

 

 

- Proofreading: After the manuscript is approved by the judges, the editor and the editor of the journal, a copy of the manuscript is sent to the responsible author before printing, in order to eliminate possible problems, especially possible problems in the authors' affiliation. Comment on the magazine and submit it through the magazine's website. At this stage, esteemed authors may not make changes to the sentences of the final approved handwritten text without the permission of the journal's editorial board. - After publication, a copy will not be sent to the responsible author and the issues of the magazine will be available to writers and readers through the site.
