Abstract
Introduction and objective: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between sexual performance and sexual self-efficacy with marital adjustment in women with breast and gynecological cancer.
Method: This applied, and descriptive study was conducted using a correlational method on all women with breast and gynecological cancer (306 people) referring to Shahid Rahimi Hospital Center and Anjuman Noor Shahr Khorramabad Center, Iran. A total of 180 people were selected using Morgan's sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The samples were assessed using interviews and a personal-social information questionnaire, women's sexual performance index questionnaire, Vaziri and Lotfi's sexual self-efficacy questionnaire, and Spiner's couple compatibility questionnaire. Finally, data were used to present the mean and standard deviation and statistical analysis via Pearson correlation and simple hierarchical regression.
Findings: The standard regression model showed that there was a significant relationship between sexual performance and sexual self-efficacy with marital adjustment of women with breast and gynecological cancer. The independent variables "sexual performance and sexual self-efficacy" in the regression coefficients are the most important predictors for the dependent variable "marital adjustment."
Conclusion: Chronic diseases, including women's cancer, in addition to affecting the patient themselves, can also affect the patient's married life.
