آیا بین عزت نفس و سلامت روان در نوجوانان ارتباط وجود دارد؟

چکیده

مقدمه: عزت نفس یک عامل روانی مهم در تعیین کیفیت زندگی می‌باشد. مطالعات کمی در مورد ارتباط عزت نفس و سلامت روان به ویژه در کودکان و نوجوانان در ایران صورت گرفته بود. از این رو، مطالعه‌ی حاضر با هدف بررسی ارتباط عزت نفس و سلامت روان در نوجوانان انجام شد.روش‌ها: در یک مطالعه‌ی مقطعی با نمونه‌گیری چند مرحله‌ای، 172 نوجوان رده‌ی سنی 15-13 سال وارد مطالعه شدند. با استفاده از پرسش‌نامه‌ی عزت نفس Coopersmith و پرسش‌نامه‌ی سلامت روان General health questionnaire (GHQ)، اطلاعات مربوط به هر دانش‌آموز جمع‌آوری شد. واکاوی آماری داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS صورت گرفت.یافته‌ها: میانگین نمره‌ی کل عزت نفس نوجوانان 9/14 ± 5/68 از 100 و میانگین نمره‌ی کل اختلال در سلامت روان نوجوانان 9/11 ± 9/17 از 84 بود. بین نمره‌ی کل عزت نفس و نمره‌ی کل اختلال در سلامت روان نوجوانان، رابطه‌ی معنی‌دار معکوسی وجود داشت (627/0- = r، 001/0 > P).نتیجه‌گیری: به طور کلی، می‌توان نتیجه گرفت که بین عزت نفس با سلامت روان در نوجوانان ارتباط وجود دارد و هر اندازه فرد از عزت نفس بالاتری برخوردار باشد، سلامت روان بیشتری خواهد داشت.

چکیده [English]

Background: Self-esteem is an important factor in determining the quality of life. There are a few studies about the relationship between self-esteem and mental health status, especially in children and teenagers in Iran. So, the goal of this study was to assess the relationship between self-esteem and mental health status in teenagers.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 172 teenagers between 13-15 years old were participated using multistage sampling method. Information about each student was recorded using Coppersmith self-esteem questionnaire and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). SPSS software was used to analyze the data.Findings: The mean score of teenagers' self-esteem was 68.5 ± 14.9 out of 100, and the mean score of teenagers' mental health disorder was 17.9 ± 11.9 out of 84. There was significant inverse relationship between the teenagers' self-esteem and mental health disorder (P < 0.001, r = -0.627).Conclusion: In general, it can be concluded that self-esteem is related to mental health status in adolescents; person with higher self-esteem will have better mental health status.
